Silver Star-1 suspended following casing damage Martin Kovacs, 19 Jun 2017

Planet Gas has advised that the Silver Star-1 exploration well, in PEL 638 in the South Australian Cooper Basin, will be suspended following casing being damaged, with replacement casing to be procured and a forward plan finalised.

Planet advised that while running production casing into the well, unstable coals through the horizontal section collapsed, damaging the casing.

The joint venture remains committed to evaluating material gas resources in the basin-centred play, including fracture stimulation and testing of the well in the first half of the 2018 financial year, Planet stated.
