Good gas shows observed in the Kingia Formation at Waitsia-4 Martin Kovacs, 7 Aug 2017

AWE, operator of L1/L2 in the Western Australian northern Perth Basin, has advised that the Waitsia-4 appraisal well has intersected the first of its primary targets, the Kingia Formation, with good gas shows observed and wireline logs to be acquired to confirm reservoir quality.

AWE advised that Waitsia-4 is drilling ahead to its second primary target, the High Cliff Sandstone, with the well being directionally drilled to a planned maximum total depth of 3,834 m MDRT.

Waitsia-4, the last appraisal well planned for the Waitsia field this year, will be logged and, if the results are positive, will be completed as a production well, and a flow test may be performed, AWE stated.
